Overheard in my apartment this morning: Daughter to son: I need to take a shower. Arent you going to take a shower? Take a shower. I have to take one. Son: I am going first. You take too long. Mom, get out of the bathroom. Me: Dont everyone start. Its Monday. Son: I am going in now. Daughter: Hurry up. HURRY! (3 minutes later) Daughter (outside bathroom door): You are taking too long. Hurry up. Son: What?? I cant hear you. Daughter: (louder): You are taking too long. Son: I still cant hear you. I am in the shower. Me: Oh MY GOD! Daughter: HURRY UP! YOU ARE TAKING TOO LONG YOU IDIOT! Me: Hey! Theres no calling your brother an idiot this early on a Monday morning. Daughter: (Shoots mean I-hate-you-mom look). He is taking too long! Me: (with Plexiglas mean daughter look shield activated): Sit down and wait. Say nothing. Daughter: Grumbles away with trailing black cloud. Son: (Coming out of bathroom) GO in then. GO! Daughter: Idiot. Me: Nice. I love this family. What a great family. Daughter (SLAM!) Yeah. That was the barely still on the hinges bathroom door. Son looks at me and says, Happy Monday Mom. Yep.
