Nuthin' fancy.........just your average, through-a-glass-darkly, iconoclastic, cynical, (though romantic/nostalgic/sentimental), lover of good writing, words and language per se, film buff/enthusiast; musical maven (jazz, Bach, Renaissance & Baroque, most any "untainted" roots type music, Brazilian) sneaky good guitar player (acoustic/classical), an unabashed lover of hedonistic pleasures (certainly including, but not limited to SEX), lover of good food/wine (omnivore), creative and fearless chef de cuisine, a lover of run-on sentences.......
Mucho curioso.........interested (and often tickled by), a wide range of stuff (physics, natural sciences, biography, literature, other...........)
When it comes to most "popular culture" (DaVinci Code, CNN, FOX, Clapton, the SUV, Harry Potter, action films, blockbusters, special effects, reality TV, etc.), my usual response is: "I'm outta here"!!!!!
Politics.........I am deeply chagrined and embarrassed to be an American. Due in part to having lived in (evil socialist) Europe for 8 years. My views are probably a tad left of Ralph Nader.

The last great book I read "The Alphabet Vs. the Goddess" Leonard Shlain. Re-reading Voltaire and that's great, except I got sidetracked by bio of Nat King Cole. Not great, but mighty interesting.
Favorite on-screen sex scene On screen sex makes me squeamish. Artistically speaking, I like the subtle/nuanced/suggestive style better. As in Picnic or A Man and a Woman
The celebrity I resemble the most Alfred E. Newman
