I mend, massage, and refurfubish Modernism to the best of my abilities. My hands are often covered in grime of the past: washing my hands, coveting for the real. Design, Art, and doing. Reading any and all artbooks, pounding pavement, making stick figures on the beach. Staring, starring, and wandering. I am always up for refreshing sorts and I can always make my friends smile.
My Ideal Person:
Oh ... An equal, a local deviant, creators, and eccentrics..., someone who desires more to life than just the norm... and passionate about who you are and can keep it real. Someone tonic, grounded, yet floats, tuned-in, and curious. A heart made up of sage, malt, sugar, and thyme: mixed with rocks, spirits, tempo, and brine.
The last great book I read Rock My Religion, Dan Graham (all time favorite Art book) , 20th Century design auction catalogs, and any/all product labels.
My most humbling moment I was locked out of my humble home without shoes, a phone, or wallet; nothing. I took breath and remained calm, collected my thoughts and devised a plan. I imagined the only thing between me and my getting into my space was a few quarter inches of plaster and wood. I pictured where there was nothing positioned against the wall inside. With my left heel a hole was born and a little work with my hands and some elbow work I was able to burrow an opening large enough for me to squat through. I entered feeling reborn, it was a strange feeling. I left for work and later that evening patched up the hole. My sense of security in some ways has now changed. I still lock my door though.
Favorite on-screen sex scene Harold and Maude, of course; kidding.
If I could be anywhere right now Floating on the water, or possibly in the streets of Glascow eating fish and chips with the rain beating down on me. Staring up at Earth from the Moon is my final answer.
In my bedroom one will find... Mid-century, neat and tidy.
